Raise your glass to an unforgettable experience!

A glass of wine per day is good for your health, we say in Slovenia. But for us there is so much more to wine than that. Slovenia is a wine country, home to the world’s oldest grape vine (more than 400 years old and still bearing grapes).

Wine making in Slovenia existed since the time of the Celts and Illyrian tribes, long before the Romans introduced winemaking to the lands of France, Spain and Germany. Therefore wine-producing is an important part of our tradition and daily life, as well as a prominent ambassador of Slovenia the world over.

Wine-tasting evenings

That being said, wine tasting is an indispensable part of the cultural experience you will get on our tours. As we tour through different regions of Slovenia we indulge ourselves in tasting a variety of local wines with every meal (well, breakfast is too early for wine). Even better, on our longer tours Alps to Coast and Slovenia Grand Circle we dedicate one whole evening to a professional guided wine-tasting at one of the best wine cellars in the region.

If you like good wine this is a great opportunity to explore the wines of Slovenia and learn about our rich tradition of viticulture. If you are not a wine lover, by the end of the tour, you will most probably change your mind.
